Several factors influence the price of parquet. The main ones are:

Wood species

Different species have different raw-material costs. For example, walnut flooring often costs more than oak because the timber itself is more expensive. 

Real wood wear-layer thickness

In engineered parquet, the thickness of the valuable real wood top layer affects price and the potential for future refurbishment. Compare the actual construction and the manufacturer's specifications rather than total board thickness alone. 

Surface finish

Finishes include UV-cured oil, natural oil and lacquer. Their production processes and performance requirements can affect the price.

Manufacturing method

Standard factory production offers consistent products at scale. Hand-finished or individually crafted boards involve more labour and may cost more. The resulting appearance and details can differ, so compare the finished product as well as its manufacturing method.
